The Importance of Outdoor Experiences in the Primary Years

Daily experiences in natural environments can have immediate and long-lasting benefits for children. Research shows children who play outdoors have more active imagiinations, lower stress levels, greater respect for themselves and better health.

So as many schools reduce recess time or eliminate it completely in favor of increased classroom instruction, it’s important to make sure kids have other opportunities to get outside and run, jump, climb and explore their environments.
